Idaho Construction Bonding, LLC (ICB) is a bond-only agency and is in the business of meeting the contract bond needs of commercial contractors. Our target clients are business-minded and well-respected commercial contractors who have the experience, grit and financial wherewithal to honor their contractual commitments. ICB’s focus is contract bonding.

Our intent is to provide our clients with the best service and construction bond education in the industry. We are licensed in multiple States, including Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California and can easily extend licenses to other States as needs arise.

Through our Surety partners, ICB has the capacity to help the emerging contractor as well as support the needs of much larger entities.  Our goal is to create an agency that offers our clients an increased level of comfort and stability.

What are the benefits of working with an independent, bond-only agency? We intensely focus on just one thing: helping you qualify for larger bond capacities along with the most competitive rates.

We are ultra-passionate about our contractors’ businesses and consider ourselves their business partners. We have a deep desire to help them level-up their businesses in today’s social world by connecting them with the most competent Surety Underwriters, construction-oriented CPA’s, business bankers, Insurance Agents and marketing /brand strategists.

This is why our tagline is: #BreakTheMold

Contract Bonds
(Bid, Performance &
Payment Bonds):

These bonds guarantee contract completion and payment to the contractor’s suppliers, subcontractors and laborers in the event of contractor default.

Subdivision Bonds:

The project owner will provide this type of bond to municipalities to guarantee the installation of improvements that will typically be dedicated to the public and paid for by the owner.

Commercial Surety Bonds:

These are license & permit or compliance bonds, typically required by the State in order to obtain a license.

Bondability Letters:

Sometimes General Contractors won’t require an actual bond; however, they’ll ask you for a “bondability” letter. This letter outlines your single / aggregate limits and lets the GC know that a Surety Company has prequalified you for bonding. We’ll prequalify you annually and prepare a letter for you that can be used through the year. Prequalification is based on personal credit and business and personal financials, depending on capacity.

Contract Bond Education:

Throughout the year, we’ll offer contract bond education workshops to help you feel more comfortable with the contract bond process.

Miscellaneous Bonds:

ICB is licensed to issue every type of Surety bond, and we’d be happy to service our established contract clients with all of their bond needs.

About Us

Jenae Sexton began her Contract Bonding career in 2002. She is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), a member of the Idaho AGC, and, in 2019, she founded and became the Executive Director of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) of Idaho. She is driven by her passion to improve, promote and preserve the construction trade industry for future generations.

“Of all the career choices out there and the different paths one can take, I am so thankful that, in 2002, I fell into Contract Bonding. Fast-forward 19 years and I own the only locally-owned Contract Bond Agency in Idaho. What does local mean to me? Local is that extra, soft touch that cannot be replicated, no matter what. Bottled up, it is the human synergy at a rodeo while the National Anthem is being played. Local is where your heart lives. It’s home. Local means long-term relationships built on trust and a mutual, innate desire to help one another succeed. Small, local businesses are the heart and soul of a community. What a blessing it is to own a small Idaho business; to wake up each day and do what I love for people I really like.”

Choose Local and Small Y’all, a grassroots movement created out of a desire to promote and support locally-owned, small businesses says “Choosing local is about fueling the local economy, & helping to preserve peoples’ dreams.

“Small-scale, locally owned businesses create communities that are more prosperous, connected and generally better-off across a wide range of metrics. When we buy from independent, locally owned businesses, rather than national chains, a significantly greater portion of our money is then cycled back through our local economy - to make purchases from friends’ businesses, to aid our neighbors in need, and to support local farms - ultimately strengthening  the base of our whole community.”
